Published April 14, 2025

Introduction (10 minutes) ● Icebreaker Question: Share a time when a small decision significantly impacted your life. ● Objective: Understand how our choices and influences shape our spiritual journey and lead us toward or away from true happiness in Christ. Scripture Reading (10 minutes) ● Read Psalm 1 together as a group. Consider reading from different translations for a broader understanding. Discussion Questions (30 minutes) 1. The Domino Effect: ● How do the choices we make act like dominoes in our spiritual life? ● What are some "dominoes" you have set up in your life that lead you toward Christ? 2. Pursuing True Happiness: ● According to Psalm 1, what is the source of true happiness? ● How does the world’s definition of happiness differ from the biblical perspective? 3. Choosing Your Community: ● Why is it important to be mindful of the company we keep, as mentioned in Psalm 1:1? ● How can we balance being in the world but not of the world in our relationships? 4. Delighting in God’s Law: ● What does it mean to delight in the law of the Lord? ● How can we cultivate a love for God’s Word daily? 5. The Path of Righteousness: ● What does it mean that the Lord watches over the way of the righteous (Psalm 1:6)? ● How can we ensure we are walking on the path of righteousness? Group Activity (15 minutes) ● Reflection Exercise: Have each participant write down one area of their life where they need to realign their "dominoes" to follow Christ better. Encourage them to share if they feel comfortable. ● Prayer Partners: Pair up and pray for each other’s specific needs and commitments to follow the path of righteousness. Application (10 minutes) ● Challenge: This week, focus on one specific area where you can delight more in God’s Word. Share your progress with the group next week. ● Encouragement: Remind the group that God is with them on their journey, guiding and sustaining them. Closing Prayer Conclude with a prayer, thanking God for His Word and asking for His strength to walk in His ways. Additional Resources ● Encourage participants to read a chapter from a Christian book on spiritual growth or happiness in Christ, such as The Pursuit of God by A.W. Tozer, for further study. ● Suggest memorizing Psalm 1 as a way to internalize its truths.
