Crosspoint Community Church

Family Business Meeting

June 2024

Crosspoint is growing, and we plan to continue to grow—now and in the future. This growth has made it difficult to do the ministry that we currently do and that we would like to be a part of in the future in our facilities. We have been gifted wonderful facilities for the past 30+ years. We stand on the shoulders of those who have been a part of Crosspoint and sacrificed so that we can worship and serve at our current campus.

We also know that La Grange, Fayette, and the surrounding counties are growing. As the community grows, Crosspoint needs to be prepared for it. We have the privilege of having members in all the surrounding areas, and we foresee this trend continuing.

As you know, we have a heart to serve our community, and everything we do has that heart-set. We are offering Crosspoint Children’s Academy this Fall with this mindset. We foresee a Children’s Ministry engaging our community daily, not just on Sundays. We foresee a Student Ministry that engages teens throughout the week at a student center that would allow students to have a safe place to gather, be tutored, mentored, and have fun (5th quarters, dances, movie nights, & more).

We foresee building a new worship center in the future that can hold large community events (plays, musicals, galas, concerts). We foresee a counseling center that meets the needs of all our community members (male, female, teens, kids, couples, etc.). We foresee a Community for women & children who need a place to learn life skills, establish themselves for their future, and be productive community members. None of these ministries are possible without a shared sacrifice – prayer, planning, and investment (time, talents, and treasures).

As we consider our legacy for the next 20+ years, the Crosspoint Community Elders believe we are at a unique time in our church history. We must consider and prayerfully plan for our present and future, including, but not limited to, our physical campus and facilities.

Therefore, the Crosspoint Elders request’s congregational approval for the following:

To sell 2 acres of land in the West Point area.

The 2 acres are surrounded by a cemetery and a local family’s land/home. The family wants to purchase the 2 acres and will care for the cemetery, which Crosspoint has cared for for the previous 15+ years.

To pursue acquiring property that is in proximity to the current campus for future expansion.

Currently, several homes are not part of the Crosspoint campus.

We would like to have the option to pursue the purchase of the homes and properties when possible. Per our bylaws, the congregation would have to vote to finalize any possible purchase of property, but this would allow the Elders to discuss options on Crosspoint’s behalf up to purchase.

To vote on these two proposals, one must be a member of Crosspoint Community Church.

The vote begins on Sunday, June 9th, and ends on Sunday, June 23, 2024.

If you have questions and need to speak to someone, please contact the church office.
