Crosspoint Daily Devotional | May 4 – May 11

Crosspointchurchtx   -

Each day, take time to meditate on the scripture, reflect on the questions, and pray for guidance and strength to live out your faith. May this devotional help you deepen your relationship with Christ and strengthen your foundation in Him.

Day 1: The Value of Sacrifice

Scripture: Matthew 26:6-13

Reflection: In the story of Mary anointing Jesus with expensive perfume, we see a profound act of worship and sacrifice. Mary gave what was likely her most valuable possession to honor Jesus. This act challenges us to consider what we hold dear and how we can offer it to God. Sacrifice is not about the loss but about the love and devotion behind the offering.

Prayer: Lord, help me to recognize the things I hold dear and give me the courage to offer them to You. May my life be a living sacrifice, holy and pleasing to You. Amen.

Action: Identify something in your life that you value highly. Consider how you can use it to honor God this week.

Day 2: Criticism and Worship

Scripture: Matthew 26:8-10

Reflection: The disciples criticized Mary for what they saw as wastefulness. Jesus, however, saw her act as beautiful. Often, acts of genuine worship and devotion can be misunderstood or criticized by others. True worship is about the heart’s intention and the willingness to honor God above all else.

Prayer: Father, help me to focus on pleasing You rather than seeking the approval of others. Let my worship be genuine and from the heart. Amen.

Action: Reflect on a time when you felt criticized for your faith. How can you respond with grace and continue to worship God wholeheartedly?

Day 3: Understanding Worth

Scripture: Matthew 26:11

Reflection: Jesus reminds us that the poor will always be with us, but our time with Him is precious. This statement is not to diminish the importance of helping others but to emphasize the unique and irreplaceable value of our relationship with Christ. Understanding what is truly valuable helps us prioritize our lives.

Prayer: Jesus, help me to see the true worth in my relationship with You. Let me not be distracted by the temporary but focus on the eternal. Amen.

Action: Spend time in prayer and reflection, asking God to reveal areas in your life where you need to realign your priorities.

Day 4: Generational Impact

Scripture: Matthew 26:13

Reflection: Jesus declared that Mary’s act of devotion would be remembered wherever the Gospel is preached. Our acts of faith and love can have a lasting impact beyond what we can see. When we live for Christ, our lives become testimonies that can influence generations.

Prayer: Lord, use my life as a testimony of Your love and grace. May my actions today have a lasting impact for Your kingdom. Amen.

Action: Think of someone who has impacted your faith journey. Reach out to them with gratitude, and consider how you can be a similar influence on others.

Day 5: Living as a Sacrifice

Scripture: Romans 12:1

Reflection: We are called to be living sacrifices, offering our lives daily to God. This means surrendering our desires, ambitions, and resources to His will. It is a continuous act of worship that pleases God and transforms us into His likeness.

Prayer: Father, I offer myself to You as a living sacrifice. Transform my heart and mind to align with Your will. Let my life be a pleasing aroma to You. Amen.

Action: Each morning, dedicate your day to God. Ask Him to guide your actions and decisions, and be open to His leading throughout the day.
