Objective: To explore the biblical concept of wisdom, understand its importance, and discuss practical ways to pursue it in our daily lives.

Opening Prayer

Invite someone to open the session with a prayer, asking for God’s guidance and wisdom as you study His Word together.

Ice Breaker: “Wisdom in Action”

– Ask each participant to share a time when they had to make a difficult decision. What factors did they consider, and how did they determine the best course of action? 

– Alternatively, have participants share a proverb or wise saying they have found meaningful in their lives.

  1. Understanding Wisdom
  • Read Proverbs 4:5-7.
  • Discussion Questions:
  1. What does it mean to “get wisdom”? 
  • How is this different from simply acquiring knowledge?
  • Why do you think Solomon emphasizes the pursuit of wisdom so strongly?
  1. Guarding the Heart
  • Read Proverbs 4:23-27.
  • Discussion Questions:
  1. What does it mean to guard your heart, and why is it important?
  2. How can the condition of our heart affect our actions and decisions?

 

  1. The Source of Wisdom
  • Read James 1:5 and Proverbs 9:10.
  • Discussion Questions:
  1. How does the fear of the Lord relate to wisdom?
  2. What does James 1:5 tell us about God’s willingness to give wisdom?

 

  1. Wisdom in Christ
  • Read 1 Corinthians 1:24.
  • Discussion Questions:
  1. How is Christ described in relation to wisdom?
  2. How can our relationship with Christ influence our pursuit of wisdom?

 

Application

  1. Personal Reflection:
  • Reflect on an area of your life where you need wisdom. What steps can you take to seek God’s guidance in this area?

  • How can you encourage others in your community to pursue wisdom? Consider forming a small group or accountability partnership focused on this pursuit.

  •  Identify one practical step you can take this week to guard your heart or seek wisdom. Share this with the group for accountability.
