Questions From Jesus – Living a Life Rooted in Christ

Crosspointchurchtx   -

Icebreaker: “Favorite Things”
Have each participant share their favorite book, movie, or hobby and why they enjoy it. This
activity helps participants connect on a personal level and sets a relaxed tone for the study.

Scripture Focus: Luke 6:46-49

Have a volunteer read Luke 6:46-49 aloud to the group. Encourage everyone to follow along in
their Bibles.

Have everyone take the Worldviews Assessment, found at:

Discussion Questions:
1. Understanding the Passage:
● What does Jesus mean when He asks, “Why do you call me ‘Lord, Lord,’ and do not do
what I say?”
● How does Jesus describe the difference between those who hear His words and put
them into practice versus those who do not?
2. Building on the Rock:
● What does it mean to build your life on the rock, according to this passage?
● How can we ensure that our foundation is strong and secure in Christ?
3. Practical Obedience:
● Why is obedience to Jesus’ teachings crucial for a strong spiritual foundation?
● Share a personal experience where obeying Jesus’ words made a difference in your life.
4. Life’s Storms:
● What are some “storms” in life that can test our foundation?
● How can a strong foundation in Christ help us withstand these storms?

Application
Personal Reflection: Spend a few minutes in silent reflection, asking God to reveal any areas of
your life that are not fully built on Him. Write down one specific area you want to work on.
Action Step: Commit to a practical step this week to strengthen your foundation in Christ. This
could include setting aside daily time for prayer and Bible study, joining a small group for
accountability, or serving in a ministry.
Group Challenge: As a group, discuss ways you can support each other in building a strong
foundation. Consider starting a group chat or meeting regularly to share insights and
encourage one another.

Closing Prayer
Conclude with a prayer asking God to help each participant build their life on the foundation of
Christ and to live out His teachings in their daily lives.
