Let’s Talk About It: Ask Pastor Chris — 5‑Day Devotional

Crosspointchurchtx   -

A devotional series designed to uplift your spirit, strengthen your faith, and remind you of God’s presence in every moment — from small victories to moments of silence and suffering.

Day 1: Finding Small Wins

Scripture:

“I can do all this through him who gives me strength.” — Philippians 4:13

Reflection:
Life can feel overwhelming at times, making it easy to become paralyzed by fear or exhaustion. But today, focus on finding a small win — something simple like getting out of bed, doing the dishes, or preparing a meal. Every small act is a visible reminder that God strengthens you, even in the little things. Celebrate these micro‑moments as steps toward healing and wholeness.

Prayer:
Lord, help me draw strength from You for even the smallest tasks today. Let me see each small win as a step toward the abundant life You’ve planned for me. Amen.

Day 2: Sharing with Your Children

Scripture:

“Start children off on the way they should go, and even when they are old they will not turn from it.” — Proverbs 22:6

Reflection:
Parents often wonder how transparent they should be with their kids. The truth is, honest sharing — in age‑appropriate ways — teaches strength and emotional health. When you open up about your challenges, you model vulnerability, trust, and hope in Christ. Your openness becomes a living lesson that faith doesn’t deny struggle — it meets it with grace.

Prayer:
Father, give me wisdom as I share my struggles with my children. Let my honesty become a channel of healing and strength that points them to Your truth. Amen.

Day 3: Embracing Silence with God

Scripture:

“Be still, and know that I am God.” — Psalm 46:10

Reflection:
The world is loud, demanding your attention at every turn. But God invites you into stillness, where His voice can be heard most clearly. When you quiet your heart and simply ask, “What are You thinking, Lord?”, the noise fades and His presence grows. Silence isn’t empty — it’s sacred space where relationship deepens.

Prayer:
God, teach me to be still before You. Help me to listen more than I speak, and to rest in the peace of Your presence. Amen.

Day 4: The Role of Suffering

Scripture:

“Consider it pure joy, my brothers and sisters, whenever you face trials of many kinds, because you know that the testing of your faith produces perseverance.” — James 1:2‑4

Reflection:
Suffering is never easy — but it is never wasted. God uses hardship to refine character and strengthen faith. Even Jesus learned obedience through suffering. When you face trials, ask not just “Why?” but “What are You teaching me, Lord?” Trust that perseverance is being built within you, shaping your heart for greater joy.

Prayer:
Lord, help me to see my difficulties as opportunities for growth. Strengthen my faith through trials and remind me that You are shaping me for Your good purpose. Amen.

Day 5: Casting Your Cares

Scripture:

“Cast all your anxiety on him because he cares for you.” — 1 Peter 5:7

Reflection:
Every worry, fear, and burden is an invitation — to trust in the One who lovingly carries it all. God doesn’t dismiss your pain; He cares deeply for you. Today, take time to release your anxieties into His hands. Rest in the peace that comes from knowing your heart is safely held by Him.

Prayer:
Heavenly Father, I lay every worry and fear at Your feet. Thank You for caring for me so tenderly. Teach me to trust Your love and peace beyond understanding. Amen.
